Summary : The WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter is one of the most efficient RO-systems for home use. It is also rather convenient yet its warranty package is quite unsatisfactory.
Many people nowadays try to protect their health by drinking bottled water instead of tap water. However, what most of those people fail to realize is that bottled water is not water that comes from pure mountain springs. In most cases, it is simply filtered tap water. Imagine how expensive water would be if it had to be transported from the mountains to a filtration company (because even spring water needs to be filtered if it is to abide by health requirements in order to be allowed on the market). Furthermore, the companies who are in the bottled water industry don’t use a sophisticated technology in order to filter water. Most of them use the renowned reverse osmosis filtration. Think how much money you could save if you had such a system into your own home, not to mention the fact that you would no longer contribute to the pollution caused by producing bottles and distributing them. In what fallows, we will introduce you to the WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter, an amazing home water filter which can provide water as clean or even cleaner than the bottled one. You may have heard that plastic bottles can leak certain cancerigen substances in the liquids which they carry, especially when the plastic gets hot. No need to worry about that anymore.
The WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter is one of the most convenient water filters on the market, offering you quality water at a mere fraction of the cost of bottled water. It provides quality drinking water which you can store in your refrigerator or use for cooking or for preparing beverages. With this filter, you will be able to taste the improvement, straight from the first use. Without dangerous and dirty contaminants, your tap water will taste so much better, a fact which will also be noticed in your cooked food and your coffee of your tea. Like most reverse osmosis systems designed for home use, the WHER25 Filter can comfortably fit under your sink. It comes with a water storing tank and a stylish faucet. The system can be used on tap water that comes from a municipal system but also on water that comes from a private well.
There is a reason why the major bottled water suppliers use a reverse osmosis filtration. The reason is the fact that this type of filtration eliminates most the contaminants found in the water. During the reverse osmosis filtration, the water is forced through a very dense membrane which captures the water contaminants and flushes them down the drain. The WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter is capable of reducing most of the chlorine found in tap water as well as its taste and odor. It also reduces arsenic, copper cysts, lead, radium, industrial discharge turbidity, Cryptosporidium, Giardia Cysts, nitrites, nitrates, radium, magnesium, chromium, sodium, lead and numerous sediments, including rust and silt. In small quantities, these contaminants pose minimum risks, yet in the long run, they can ruin your appliances and pose a serious risk to your health. If there is one minor problem with this water filter that is the fact that along with the dangerous contaminants, it also filters the good minerals like calcium, potassium and magnesium. Not only are these minerals not dangerous to one’s health but they can actually be beneficial. Nevertheless, if you eat a healthy diet which also includes minerals, this system will work great for you.
Design and maintenance
The WHER25 Reverse Osmosis Water Filter has a rather bulky design. While it will comfortably fit under any sink, it will however take most if not all of your under sink storage space. The system is 13 1/2 in. high, 16 in. wide and 9 1/2 in. deep. It features a convenient EZ-Change indicator light which notifies the user when the filters had reached their full capacity and need to be changed. The indicator also monitors water quality. Each filter has a 6-month lifespan, meaning that you only need to replace them twice per year. The filtering membrane on the other hand is a lot more durable, featuring a 1-3 year life. Both the filters and the membrane can be changed within seconds, without needing professional help or without causing any mess. In fact, even the installment process is rather simple as the system comes with all the parts necessary for the installation process including colored tubing and push-in fittings.
Durability and warranty
This is an NSF certified water filter, meaning that it was independently tested in order to check its efficiency. Furthermore, the fact that this product is produced in collaboration with Whirlpool makes it a lot easier to trust its durability. However, when it comes to spending money, you need a little more than trust to protect you investment. We were quite disappointed to see that this filter’s warranty only covers the parts for one year. Furthermore, neither the shipping fees for sending replacement parts nor the repair costs are included in the warranty. This is quite disappointing considering the fact that there are filters out there that are covered for 3-5 years.
